Mustafa (Hayri) Tongarlak is an Associate Professor in Management Science at the Ivey Business School.
Hayri joined Ivey in 2022 as a visiting faculty member and became a full-time Associate Professor of Management Science on July 1, 2024. He currently serves the faculty director of the MM-Analytics program and has taught across multiple programs—MMA, MBA, HBA, MSc, and PhD—earning the MM-Analytics Faculty Award twice (2023, 2024) and the MSc Ivey Elective Teaching Excellence Award (2024).
His research is internationally respected, with publications in leading journals including Operations Research, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, Queueing Systems, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, and Interfaces.
Hayri brings direct administrative leadership experience from his tenure as Chair of the Department of Management at Bogaziçi University (2018–2020), where he provided strategic leadership for BA, MA, PhD, MBA, and EMBA programs and successfully put the department on track for the accreditation process, streamlining operational standards and academic quality to ensure all programs met the rigorous benchmarks of global excellence.
