Did you know that your electricity system is about to change?

Alberta and Ontario are in the midst of a fundamental redesign of their electricity markets.

This redesign is happening at a time when the electricity system is experiencing considerable transformation, driven by increased investment in renewable energy and demand response resources, a shift towards more distributed energy resources, innovation in electric storage technology and added intelligence throughout the electric power system.

What lies ahead? And who will chart the course for this transformation?

Through a unique workshop experience, the Ivey Energy Policy and Management Centre, together with IESO and AESO, and business and academic leaders, will look at how electricity markets and pricing mechanisms can be designed for the future electricity system to promote a transparent, reliable, efficient, and openly competitive market place.
