Toyota recently announced that it will be sending the production of its Corolla, Toyota’s North American top-seller, to Mexico. According to Toyota Canada, its Cambridge plant production will be replaced with a high-end vehicle, but the production move still raises concerns for plant workers.
Ivey Professor Mike Moffatt feels that Ontario now has some very tough decisions to make in terms of weighing the pros and cons of keeping companies like Toyota.
"I think we need to take a really hard look at this [situation] and ask ourselves how much are we willing to pay to keep companies like that here?"
