Some employers in Sweden began what many considered an audacious experiment: putting their staffs on a six-hour day. The results may have been somewhat surprising with productivity and worker satisfaction both going up. Ivey's Chris Higgins, an expert in workplace productivity, was asked by the Globe and Mail to comment on the recent experiments.
“What you are likely to find with the shorter workday is higher productivity. People are very good at working to deadlines. If they have a six-hour day they will tend to get everything done in the six hours.”
