Entrepreneurship Professor Simon Parker integrated crowdfunding into his curriculum at Ivey several years ago. He saw a need for the skill to be developed, but it has been a struggle due to the challenges and complexities of crowdfunding in Canada.

In an interview with the Globe and Mail, Parker discussed the ups and downs of teaching this subject to his current and future students.

“I don’t think that Canadian universities or business schools are doing a particularly good job at covering crowdfunding,” said Parker, “but then again I don’t think the Canadian government is doing a very good job, either.”
