While we can't buy a morning coffee or lunch with bitcoin just yet, it's becoming more popular as the weeks go by - even showing up recently in ATMs at the corner store.
But Associate Professor J.P. Vergne tells CTV News that consumers should understand more about the currency before jumping on board.

"I think people should approach this cautiously, and they should learn before they use bitcoin," Vergne says.
