Welcoming over 350 of Canada’s most prominent business people, Ivey recently held its annual Business Leader Award gala, a black-tie dinner that took place at Toronto’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Ivey alumnus Jeff Orr, HBA ’81, President and CEO of Power Financial Corporation, was presented with the 2015 Ivey Business Leader Award by the Ivey Alumni Network (IAN)/Toronto Chapter. The Award honours individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of business in Canada and have demonstrated leadership in both business and their communities.

The Business Leader Award also serves as a major fundraiser for Ivey. A noteworthy $340,000 was presented to the School at the gala celebration. Since its inception in 1991, the Award has raised over $4.2 million in net proceeds.

Funds raised support HBA and MBA student awards, the Toronto Alumni Professorship in Business Leadership, currently held by Professor Mary Crossan, and the Richard Ivey Building.

Orr joins an esteemed list of past Ivey Business Leader Award recipients including Bonnie Brooks, CEO of the Bay; George Cope, President and CEO, BCE Inc. and Bell Canada; and Ed Clark, Group President and CEO of TD Bank Group (TD).
