Pet Refurral, an online referral service for all things pet owners need, took home the first place prize at the Business 2257 Feasibility Study Competition. The goal of the venture is to act as a central hub for pet owners, where they can go to find groomers, veterinary services, breeders, and kennels.

Ivey hosted the competition in the BMO Auditorium on March 26. From the 255 feasibility studies completed by the second-year Western University students, three finalists were chosen to compete at Ivey: KampKits!, LevelsLondon, and Pet Refurral.

Business 2257 is a Western second-year honors business course designed to teach students quantitative and qualitative decision-making skills. One of the course assignments is a feasibility study where students create a new venture and outline the details in a written report and an oral presentation.

The seven students behind the winning idea received the Robert G. Siskind Entrepreneurial Award as well as a medal and monetary award.

The competition was judged by Dave Cook, Founder and Owner of Fire Roasted Coffee; Steve Pellarin, Chief Executive Officer of London Small Business Centre; and Ivey Professor Nicole Haggerty.
