Ivey’s LGBTQ MBA student club, Out & Allied @ Ivey, is now an affiliate of Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA), a global initiative focusing on educating and connecting LGBTQ MBA students and alumni.

With Ivey’s participation, Ivey students will have easier access to ROMBA’s vast network, giving students a stronger connection with LGBTQ MBAs from around the world.

Jay Kiew, MBA ’18 and outgoing President of the Ivey MBA Association (MBAA), helped facilitate the connection between ROMBA and Out & Allied @ Ivey. He stressed the importance of building an inclusive culture at Ivey, and an open LGBTQ community.

“We want applicants considering Ivey’s MBA Program to see the environment as safe, supportive, and open,” Kiew said. “ROMBA is a great organization to give our students access to an important and diverse network.”

In addition, Ivey students now have access to the invite-only annual ROMBA Conference, giving them the opportunity to meet with, network with, and learn from some of the top businesses and industry experts.

“Our goal with LGBTQ Club Affiliates of ROMBA is to better serve LGBTQ-focused programming, better connect LGBTQ MBA club leaders, and better promote lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer clubs to prospective MBAs,” the ROMBA site states.
