Director of the Ivey Purchasing Managers Index

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of May 2020 stood at 39.1. The corresponding figure for May 2019 was 55.9 and for May 2018 was 62.5.

The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for May 2020 stood at 41.9; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 46.8; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 37.7; and Prices were 54.9.

The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of May 2020 is 42.1; Employment 46.0; Inventories 50.0; Supplier Deliveries 39.6; and Prices 54.8. 

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of April 2020 stood at 22.8. The corresponding figure for April 2019 was 55.9 and for April 2018 was 71.5. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for April 2020 stood at 22.9; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 34.5; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 18.2; and Prices were 51.2.

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”

A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
