Hundreds of Ivey students are preparing to mark a major milestone as they cross the convocation stage this week, celebrating the culmination of months of hard work, growth, and achievement.
This year, 1,053 students from six Ivey programs will graduate at two Western University spring convocation ceremonies. Here's what to expect during this special occasion.
Graduate programs ceremony, Canada Life Place (Wednesday, June 10, 10 a.m.) – This group includes 160 MBA, 195 MSc, 55 EMBA, and 57 AMBA graduates, as well as three PhD graduates. The MSc graduates represent three fields: International Business (49), Business Analytics (73), and Digital Management (73). They'll be joined by Richard Rooney, MBA ’81, who will receive an honorary degree during the ceremony. Watch the ceremony via livestream.
HBA program ceremony, Canada Life Place (Wednesday, June 10, 3 p.m.) – This year, Ivey has 583 HBA graduates participating in the convocation ceremony at Canada Life Place. Watch the ceremony via livestream.
Ivey alumni honoured by Western
Two distinguished Ivey alumni will receive honorary degrees during the spring convocation ceremonies. In addition to Richard Rooney, MBA '81, who will be honoured at the graduate programs ceremony, Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, HBA '92, will receive an honorary degree during the Faculty of Social Science ceremony on June 11 at 3 p.m. Read more about the honorary degree recipients.
The Ivey Pledge tradition
At various points throughout the day, graduates will gather at the Richard Ivey Building for the Ivey Pledge Ceremony, where they will receive the Ivey Ring. The HBA Pledge Ceremony is at 9:30 a.m., the MBA and AMBA Pledge Ceremonies are at 2 p.m., and the MSc Pledge Ceremony is at 3 p.m.
