Since the start of the pandemic, personal protective equipment (PPE) has been in high demand and that has led some companies to pivot to a new line of business.
Ivey’s Fraser Johnson, HBA ’82, MBA ’92, PhD ’95, a professor of Operations Management, was interviewed on CBC’s The National about the surge in contracts to companies that seemingly had no pre-pandemic experience procuring PPE.
“There’s been a lot of opportunistic organizations, distributors that don’t have any experience in procuring health-care PPE and equipment that have kind of popped up,” said Johnson.
