The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of October 2013 stood at 62.8. The corresponding figure for October 2012 was 58.3 and for October 2011 was 54.4.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for October stood at 51.7. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 53.6, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 52.4 and Prices were 59.5.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of October is 64.2, Employment 51.0, Inventories 53.4, Supplier Deliveries 52.0 and Prices 56.9.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?"
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
