IPMI-october

Monthly Comment from Professor Michiel R. Leenders,
Director of the Ivey Purchasing Managers Index

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of October 2014 stood at 51.2.   The corresponding figure for October 2013 was 62.8 and for October 2012 was 58.3.

The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for October stood at 49.9.  Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 54.1, Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 47.4 and Prices were 64.1.

The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of October is 54.2, Employment 50.0, Inventories 54.9, Supplier Deliveries 47.4 and Prices 61.4.

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?"

A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
