This year marked the 40th anniversary of the Business 1220E Case Competition at Ivey Business School, with an unprecedented 63 teams competing.
The annual competition is open to first-year Western students enrolled in Pre-Business courses, testing their problem-solving skills with a general management case and presentation to judges.
This year’s case featured the B’nai Brith Camp in Kenora, Ontario, a not-for-profit summer wilderness camp. After two unprofitable years, student teams were asked to determine the best path forward for the camp in a presentation to judges that included Ivey’s Aindrea Cramp, Director, HBA Program Services; Eric Silverberg, Co-Founder and Talk Master, Speaker Labs; and Brenda Tessler Donen, Executive Director, B’nai Brith Camp.
The winning team consisted of six Western students: Uv Sandhu, Bijan Mirshahi, Jessica Hu, Danilla Xing, Bradley Perez, and Carl Zhou.
