Director of the Ivey Purchasing Managers Index

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of January 2021 stood at 48.4. The corresponding figure for January 2020 was 57.3 and for January 2019 was 54.7.

The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for January 2021 stood at 41.5; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 56.7; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 34.7; and Prices were 82.8.

The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of January 2021 is 55.7; Employment 46.4; Inventories 57.6; Supplier Deliveries 37.5; and Prices 76.1. 

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of December 2020 stood at 46.7. The corresponding figure for December 2019 was 51.9 and for December 2018 was 59.7. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for December 2020 stood at 45.8; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 43.8; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 30.1; and Prices were 66.9.

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”

A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
