Alumni celebrating at Deeds Brewing in Melbourne, Australia

As we begin to ease back into in-person events and hybrid work models, this year’s Global Ivey Day celebrations followed suit, with both virtual and in-person events planned internationally.

The 13th annual Global Ivey Day celebration included nine School-run virtual events with over 2,000 registrants and 30+ regional events, the majority of which were held in-person. From dinner and drinks at BOTANY in Singapore, to a game night at Topgolf, El Segundo, California’s brand-new sports entertainment complex, to a North of 60 virtual event connecting grads across Northern Canada, alumni all over the world came together to celebrate Global Ivey Day.

“I’m blown away by the dedication our team of alumni volunteers and the School put into planning Global Ivey Day,” said Melanie Devereux, EMBA ’15, who is this year’s Global Ivey Day Committee Chair for the Ivey Alumni Network. “It’s really rewarding to see those efforts bring together fellow alumni especially when we, as a society, have felt quite disconnected these last couple years.”

Traditional Global Ivey Day events like The Power Lunch to honour 2022 Ivey Alumni Achievement Award recipient Neil Hetherington, EMBA ’13, and a livestream panel discussion hosted by the Ivey Academy ran alongside several new and exciting events, including a meditation session and an interactive conversation addressing Unconscious Bias.

“We’ve found a wonderful balance of virtual and in-person events that allow alumni to reconnect with the School and one another, and I’m thrilled that hundreds of alumni around the world are able to safely gather in-person to celebrate Global Ivey Day after two years apart," said Jenni Denniston, HBA ’04, Director of Alumni Relations at Ivey. “A huge thanks goes out to our passionate team of alumni volunteers and the numerous Ivey staff and faculty who came together to make the day a success.”
