The Ivey Business School is pleased to announce it has received the prestigious Grand Gold Circle of Excellence Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for The Future We See 100th-anniversary marketing and communications campaign. The campaign was created by two agencies owned by Ivey alumni: Angry Butterfly (Brent Choi, HBA ’93) and No Fixed Address (Dave Lafond, HBA ’98).

The award acknowledged the work of Ivey’s Marketing and Communications and Alumni Relations teams for the School’s year-long centennial celebration activities. These included brand awareness-building, storytelling, social media, video series, alumni events, a thought leadership symposium, and community-involvement initiatives all aligned with the Ivey Next strategic plan. The primary objective of the centennial campaign was to increase awareness of Ivey's legacy and future direction, engage stakeholders, and build pride. The award was in the category Communications Initiatives (10-25 staff).

“Our 100th-anniversary celebration was a significant undertaking involving a marketing campaign, storytelling, social media, a video series, alumni events, a symposium, and more,” said Sharon Hodgson, Dean, Ivey Business School. “But it was also a tremendous opportunity to celebrate Ivey’s legacy, unite our community, and raise awareness of our strategy and future direction. I am extremely proud that we have been recognized for our exceptional work in this area because it confirms our commitment to excellence and the expertise, talent, and commitment of the Marketing and Communications and Alumni Relations teams.”

The judges’ feedback on Ivey’s submission particularly highlighted the campaign’s potential to build awareness of and elevate the Ivey brand.

“This beautiful multi-channel campaign impressed with its outstanding design work and comprehensive approach. The visuals were well-executed, and the mix of media was well-balanced. The strategy was well-thought-out, responding effectively to reputation survey data,” the CASE judges said in their evaluation comments.

CASE’s Circle of Excellence Awards are the premier recognition program for educational advancement. This year, the global competition received more than 4,000 entries and Ivey was the only institution to win the Grand Gold title for the Communications (10-25 staff) category. According to CASE, Grand Gold awards are reserved for entries that are clearly preeminent and/or “game changing” among gold-level winners.

CASE’s peer-selected and adjudicated awards honour colleges, universities, and schools worldwide whose talented staff have advanced their organizations with resourcefulness and ingenuity.
