As demand grows for flexible, high-quality business education, Ivey Business School is expanding access to its case-based, experiential approach through Ivey Online, a digital learning platform that supports working professionals at different stages of their careers, around the world.
The expansion reflects priorities set out in the School’s Bold Ambition strategic plan, and builds on several years of faculty-led experimentation in digital and online learning. Ivey Online brings the School’s growing portfolio of online programs under a single platform aligned with its core case-based teaching model.
"One of our priorities under the Bold Ambition is opening more pathways to an Ivey education," said Julian Birkinshaw, Dean, Ivey Business School. "Ivey Online is a direct response to that, it removes the barriers of geography and scheduling that have kept people from accessing what we offer."
Through Ivey Online, faculty develop courses that draw on the School’s extensive case collection and research, maintaining Ivey’s emphasis on discussion-based experiential learning. Ivey Online provides learning in various formats, eliminating geographic and scheduling barriers that have traditionally limited access to case-based education.
Cohort-based programs
Cohort-based programs offer deeper engagement through Ivey’s signature experiential approach. Courses such as Igniting AI Transformation, AI Prototyping for Business Innovation, Managing Innovation, and The Business of Sports Marketing bring participants together over five weeks to tackle real-world business challenges through case discussions, simulations, and interactive exercises. Each program culminates in a final project focused on creating impact within participants’ own organizations.
Self-paced fundamentals
Self-paced fundamentals courses build core business knowledge in areas such as economics, accounting, financial analysis, strategy, operations, analytics, and AI for business. Each course takes approximately 10 hours to complete, allowing participants to integrate learning alongside professional and personal commitments.
A flexible, digital learning experience
Ivey Online is delivered through an AI-enabled digital platform. Interactive simulations respond to participant decisions in real time, and video content and course materials are updated regularly to reflect current business issues.
Upon completion of an Ivey Online course, participants receive a certificate that can be shared with employers or added to professional profiles.

“This isn’t about rewriting who we are – it’s about extending our impact globally by empowering more learners in more places, with tools and insights designed for the challenges of tomorrow,” said Dean Birkinshaw.
