Although progress has been made, there is still work to be done in creating gender equality in business.

In an op-ed for The Hill Times, former Ivey dean Carol Stephenson says we need to do a better job of tracking women across their career cycle and addressing the cultural stigma that many women face.

“Circumspection needs to be the watchword when we gauge success for women,” she says.

Stephenson cites the recent graduation of the first class of women from United States Army infantry training as an example of women breaking down barriers.

“This is what it looks like to move beyond tokenism and the status quo,” she says.
