JP Vergne, Scotiabank Digital Banking Lab Co-director, believes Canadian regulators are being too cautious in their approach to cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
Extensively quoted in an article for The Record, Vergne suggests Southern Ontario has everything it needs to successfully develop this new technology.

"We are really well positioned to lead the way in this new industry," says Vergne. "The problem is regulation has been very, very, very cautious. The space is moving very fast, and there will be advantages to the first movers. Canada is lagging behind and it is a concern."
