Londoners awaiting the opening of an IKEA store had better not hold their breath. The Swedish furniture giant has delayed opening a full-size store in London and Ivey Professor Emeritus Ken Hardy says he doubts it will ever be built.

Hardy told The London Free Press IKEA is just one more bricks-and-mortar retailer to fall victim to the rise of online shopping. He says online retailers, such as Wayfair and Amazon, are IKEA’s biggest threat.
“Amazon is just a powerhouse. They are in so many categories and making bold moves,” he says.
