Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s emotional speech to Canadian Parliament was a powerful example of good leadership that will inspire Canadians to take action, Ivey’s Gerard Seijts said during an interview on CBC’s Ontario Today.

“Good leadership – exceptional leadership – is about clarity of purpose. That focuses people and energizes them [and shows them] this is how you can help," he said. "Numbers don't motivate people. Compelling stories do. I thought it was incredibly moving on so many accounts."

Seijts, who is a professor of Organizational Behaviour and Executive Director of the Ian O. Ihnatowycz Institute for Leadership, was one of two guests on the open-line show that provided analysis and interacted with callers during a discussion of what makes Zelenskyy such a remarkable leader. Sen. Peter Boehm, Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade and former Canadian ambassador to Germany, also was a guest.
