Bitcoin is part of a mysterious world of code, cryptography, and terminology, but Associate Professor Jean-Philippe (J.P.) Vergne can cut through the confusion.
His research explains why cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, should be treated as technological platforms.
“Behind each cryptocurrency, there is a software that implements new technological innovations, which makes it very different from the U.S. and Canadian dollar,” he said.
