Gord Nixon was presented with the 2016 Ivey Business Leader Award by Dinner Chair Kevin O'Brien.

More than 350 of Canada’s most prominent business people took part in the 2016 Ivey Business Leader Award gala event, which honoured Gord Nixon, former chief executive officer of Royal Bank of Canada.

Nixon was presented with the 2016 Ivey Business Leader Award by the Ivey Alumni Network (IAN)/Toronto Chapter. The Award honours individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of business in Canada and have demonstrated leadership in both business and their communities.

The event is also a significant fundraiser for Ivey. More than $333,000 in net proceeds were presented to the School in support of HBA and MBA student awards, a faculty professorship, currently held by Professor Glenn Rowe, and the Richard Ivey Building. Since its inception in 1991, the Award has raised over $4.5 million in net proceeds.

Also supporting the evening were 34 corporate sponsors (see our website for a complete list) whose generous leadership support led the way for an outstanding year.
