Ivey has renewed its commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and will be focusing on substantial improvements in this area. There are many student organizations working to build a more inclusive community. Here’s a glance at how the Ivey Pride Club is mentoring, connecting, and celebrating LGBTQ+ students.

What is the Ivey Pride Club?

The Ivey Pride Club represents LGBTQ+ students and allies across Ivey’s programs. From networking events and recruiting activities to socials and community events, the club offers students the opportunity to connect with one another in a supportive environment. Ivey Pride also maintains strong relationships with corporate partners, alumni, and recruiters to offer students exclusive opportunities to connect with employers committed to LGBTQ2+ inclusive workplace cultures.

Events for students

The Ivey Pride Club organizes a variety of events and initiatives, including:

  • Meet-and-greets;
  • Recruitment events;
  • A mentorship program pairing incoming LGBTQ+ HBA1s with HBA2/3s;
  • A recruitment/speakers series where speakers from firms discuss their LGBTQ+ experiences in the workplace; and,
  • Virtual and in-person activities, such as movie nights, wine nights, and safe space time.

Pride is how Ivey’s LGBTQ+ students come together to form a community. In the recruiting space, our 200+ alumni and many corporate partners offer connections and exposure to a variety of industries. Pride also hosts a variety of social events for LGBTQ+ students to come together and express themselves freely. I’m excited to get to know the incoming HBAs through Pride’s movie nights, virtual socials, and other events!”

When I joined Ivey Pride, I felt a sense of community I hadn’t yet at Ivey; I want to pass along that wonderful community to LGBTQ+ folk in this year’s incoming HBA1 class.”

– Bella Pick, HBA ’21, Co-President of the Ivey Pride Club
