The Ivey Alumni Network (IAN) Board of Directors officially welcomed Lisa Dymond (neé Wiens), MBA ’06, Partner and Head of Talent at Altas Partners, as its new Chair on April 30, 2022. Dymond succeeds Scott Vanderwel, HBA ’98, and is the Board’s first woman Chair.

Dymond has been an involved alumna, including spending over a decade as a member of the LEADER Project Advisory Board, serving as a regular participant at HBA Leadership Day, mentoring students and alumni in their career pathing, and hiring countless Ivey graduates.

Dymond inherits a Board that, under Vanderwel’s leadership, broadened Ivey’s global impact, strengthened the Women of Ivey Network programming, revitalized Global Ivey Day, and created the Acceleration Portfolio, which focuses on ways to help alumni achieve their career objectives.

Over her term, Dymond plans to have the IAN work in lockstep with the School to help accelerate lifelong learning, promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), expand and fortify Ivey’s reach, and re-imagine the way alumni connect.

During a recent presentation to the Board, Dymond referenced an image of a green bridge that resonated with her as a powerful metaphor for her vision to connect with the alumni community.

“Bridges take you places, and bridges bring you back,” said Dymond. “As I started doing research on bridges, I noticed a lot of bridges are green — Ivey’s colour — and learned that this is by design to fit in with the natural environment around them. I think so much of this Board’s purpose is to amplify the work of the School and create an alumni experience that reflects today’s environment, and I want to ensure we challenge ourselves to remain true to that purpose.”

As she looks ahead to advance the next chapter of the IAN, Dymond has embarked on what she refers to as a “listening tour,” taking time to connect with and learn from fellow alumni to better understand their Ivey experience and to help guide her goals for the IAN over the next few years.
