Western University undergraduate students who self-identify as women and are interested in learning more about investments and asset management and will have completed their second or third year of undergraduate studies by May 2022. The program is only available to students not currently enrolled in Ivey’s HBA program. There are a limited number of spaces for third year students and preference for those spaces will be given to individuals who are interested in finance and investing but don’t have a strong background of finance education.
Yes. We are looking for both AEO and non-AEO students with broad representation from faculties across Western.
The WAM program is tuition-free and subsidized by Ivey, and our corporate partners who support our mission. We also provide course materials, selected meals, networking event food and beverages, and program-related travel costs. You just need to provide your own accommodation during the program and internship.
You will need to include your university transcripts, resumé (including all employment and extracurricular activities), two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal), two essays, and a 60-second (maximum) recorded video that introduces you and describes why you wish to explore a career in asset management and why you should be part of the WAM program. Important note: in your video you should speak directly to us and you can’t be reading from your notes.
An academic letter should come from a current or former university instructor. A personal letter should come from anyone who isn’t related to you who can speak to your character, such as a former employer, mentor, or coach. The letter submission deadline is also January 17, 2022, but we allow a short grace period.
The program will take place at the Ivey Business School May 2-27, 2022, preceded by a two-day pre-program weekend, March 19-20, 2022.
Paid internships will occur between June 6 and August 12, 2022, in select cities throughout Canada, with the majority in Toronto.
Prior to the start of the program, the WAM team will assign the internships based on best fit for both participants and corporate sponsors, and other factors we feel will be the best fit.
