• Undergraduate students who self-identify as women;
• Are currently in their second year of undergraduate studies at a Canadian university and are set to complete this year of study by May 2027;
• Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents; and,
• Interested in learning more about finance, specifically the asset management industry.

The Women in Asset Management program accepts applications from students across all academic disciplines and universities in Canada. Our past students have come from diverse academic backgrounds including Health Sciences, Engineering, Political Science, Film Studies, MIT, Business, and International Relations. Prior to beginning your application, ensure you meet the eligibility requirements.

The WAM program is tuition-free and subsidized by our corporate sponsors who support our mission. We also provide course materials, accommodations and weekday meals during the month of May.

Our participants are responsible for the following costs:

• Transportation to London for the May Programming and or Pre-Programming Weekend
• Transportation to their internship
• Living expenses while on internship

*Please note all internships are paid.

Applications will open on September 14th, 2026, and will close on January 10th, 2027. There are two application submission periods while the application is open:

Submission Period 1: September 14th 2026- October 25, 2026

Submission Period 2: October 26, 2026 – January 10, 2027 

Please allow up to three weeks for your application to be assessed once all required pre-interview components have been submitted. Within that time, the Program Office will contact you to confirm whether you have been selected for an interview.

References will be requested following the interview stage and will be the final component of the application process.

*If you begin your application during Submission Period 1 but do not complete all required components by the deadline, your application will automatically carry forward into Submission Period 2.

**If your application is completed and assessed during Submission Period 1, you will not be eligible to resubmit during Submission Period 2.

Online Application Process

The online application consists of two stages:

Stage 1: Eligibility

You will be asked to provide biographical information to confirm that you meet the program’s eligibility requirements.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will automatically advance to Stage 2 of the application.

Stage 2: Expanded Application

You will be required to submit the following:

• CV*
• Unofficial transcript**
• Extracurricular activities
• Academic and non-academic awards
• Two short essays based on the prompts provided
• Kira assessment: A short video introducing yourself, explaining your interest in asset management and outlining your reasons for applying to the program. Please ensure your presentation is professional.

All Stage 2 components must be received by the Program Office by the application deadline for your application to be considered complete.

References will be requested following the interview stage and will be the final component of the application process.

* CV requirements: Please include all work experience and do not tailor your CV specifically for the program. Clearly distinguish between paid and unpaid experience, including internships, employment and volunteer work.

** Transcript requirements: Your unofficial transcript must include:

• Your full name
• The name of your institution
• Your first-year grades
• Confirmation of your current second-year enrolment

If all required pre-interview components of your application are received by the Round 1 deadline of October 25, 2026, you can expect to receive an update from the Program Office within three weeks. This update will confirm whether you have been selected for an interview. Round 1 interviews will take place no later than November 20, 2026.

Applicants who complete all required pre-interview components by the Round 2 deadline of January 10, 2027, can also expect to receive an update within three weeks. Round 2 interviews will take place no later than February 5, 2027.

The pre-program weekend is scheduled for March 20–21, 2027. This session will be held in person at Ivey Business School, with a virtual participation option available for students located outside London. While all students are encouraged to attend in person, travel and accommodation expenses will be the responsibility of each attendee.

The main program will take place at Ivey Business School from May 3 to June 4, 2027. Participants are expected to move into residence on Friday, April 30, 2027, followed by a welcome session and dinner.

The internships are within in a variety of areas in asset management including banks, pension boards, hedge funds etc.

Paid internships will take place between June 7 and August 30, 2027, in select cities across Canada, with the majority of opportunities located in Toronto. Internships are currently available in Edmonton, Alberta; Toronto, Ontario; and Montreal, Quebec, with new locations added as opportunities become available.

Internships will be either 10 or 12 weeks in length, as determined by the individual sponsor:

• 10-week internship: June 7 to August 16, 2027
• 12-week internship: June 7 to August 30, 2027

Prior to the start of the program, the WAM program team will assign the internships based on best fit for both participants and corporate sponsors.  Both students and sponsors are required to fill out a survey to help determine best fit.

You are responsible for accommodations during the internships.  Resources will be made available to help find suitable accommodations.
