Christian has been at Ivey Business School since 2021, after spending the first ten years of his academic career at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research's Political Economy Group, and a consultant at the Chicago FED. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation in the U.S., and by Canada’s SSHRC, and has been published in Econometrica and the American Economic Review, among other outlets. Past affiliations include consulting positions with the World Bank and the Interamerican Development Bank, and a Campbell Fellowship at Stanford’s Hoover Institution. He had a brief investment banking career in Germany before pivoting into academia.

Christian consults and teaches on formulating strategy in the face of major external shocks, be they technological, geo-political, or macro-economic.  He (co-)founded companies in the AI/datascience/GR space, and is a partner at Orange Green Consulting.
