Dominique Fortier is the Global Managing Partner of Heidrick & Struggles’ Financial Services Practice, where she leads a worldwide team of executive search consultants who advise clients on leadership succession, talent development, and organizational performance. In this role, she guides the firm’s strategic growth in the financial services sector, delivering senior-level search and leadership advisory work for clients across North America as well as international markets. Dominique is an active member of her firm’s CEO & Board of Directors practice.
Prior to assuming her global role, Dominique served as Regional Managing Partner for the Americas Financial Services Practice. Her extensive expertise spans investment banking, wealth management, private equity, and infrastructure, with a focus on board and CEO succession, team buildouts, and executive assessment.
Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Dominique led the Canadian Financial Services and North American Infrastructure practices at another global executive search firm. Earlier in her career, she was a Director at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR), based in Menlo Park, California, where she focused on limited partner relations and fundraising and she began her career investing in private equity with OMERS Capital Partners and advising on mergers and acquisitions as an investment banker.
Dominique serves as Co‑Chair of the Ivey Business Leader Dinner and remains actively engaged in alumni and community leadership initiatives. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration from Western University’s Ivey Business School. Dominique divides her time between Toronto and New York City, where she lives with her partner, Alex, and has one adult son.
