June Cotte to speak at BEWorks Summit for Behaviour Insights and Science

June Cotte (1)

The Ivey Academy’s June Cotte will be speaking at the 2nd Annual BEWorks Summit for Behaviour Insights and Science in Toronto on September 23, 2019 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The BEWorks Summit is devoted to “transforming the world through behavioural insights and scientific thinking.” Behavioural science is focused on understanding cognitive biases – the way people think and make decisions – and using this knowledge to design more effective solutions to influence their behaviour.

June will be speaking about the latest in decision science as part of a panel aimed at showcasing research that matters in the real world. June is well suited to this topic, as her current research obsessions include better design of online review systems, understanding and enhancing peer-to-peer review systems in the sharing economy, and understanding successful debt reduction programs offered to indebted consumers.

Working with Canadian companies such as RVezy and Financial Fundamentals, June and her Ivey colleagues use social science insights, theories, and research to have substantive impact on the practice of marketing. This real-world applicability of rigorous scientific research is also the hallmark of the Ivey Academy, where we bring insights to practice, inside and outside the classroom.

The goal of the 2nd Annual BEworks Summit for Behavioural Insights and Science is to close the gap between business and science, and to help business leaders embrace scientific thinking to achieve their strategic priorities. The Summit will be held at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Tickets can be purchased here.
