Inclusion signifies that their work has gone through a rigorous selection process by the fund's Advisory Board, Managing Director, and Fund Managers, as well as ranking at the top quartile in the Value Investing course. The Ivey Value Fund Fellow designation also signifies that these students have accepted responsibility for tracking and reporting on their stock picks after graduation.

Alex is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2021. Prior to graduating he was a Teaching Assistant for Finance 3303K and completed internships in economic development and financial technology. Jerry is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2020. Previously, Jerry interned at Trindent Consulting as an Associate Management Consultant, where he was staffed on healthcare engagements in the United States. Ton is a graduate in Ivey MBA class of 2018. He received the Patient Capital Award for the highest grade in his Value Investing class and his team got the Robotti Award. He is now working as a Senior Analyst, Investment Analysis in Walmart Canada where he is working on capital management and developing business cases for investment projects with investment size between $50 - $700 million. He also started a telemedicine startup, Teledoc LLC, which is now on track of getting institutional VC funding. Before joining Ivey, Ton spent three years working as a Chemical Engineer, before moving on to private investments with typical deal size from a few millions to less than US$50 million.
Alex is a graduate of the Ivey MBA class of 2018. Prior to joining Ivey, he worked for one of Atlantic Canada's largest real estate developers in a variety of roles ranging from finance to construction and project management. Prior to his MBA studies, Andrew worked in Toronto’s exciting Startup space for a CleanTech and a SaaS company. Jesse is a graduate of the HBA Class of 2021. Before starting at Ivey, he studied economics. Kahlil is a graduate of the 2016 Ivey MBA Program. Prior to obtaining his MBA, he spent several years in management consulting with Deloitte based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Siddhesh is currently enrolled in his final year as a dual degree candidate in the HBA/BSc program at Western University. Siddhesh worked at KPMG Corporate Finance in their Mergers and Acquisitions team over the summer of 2016 and will be joining Scotia Waterous’s Investment Banking team in Calgary in 2017. Siddhesh has been actively involved in the Western community as a Residence Advisor and VP of the Ivey Analytics Club. Joseph obtained his HBA from the Ivey Business School in 2017, where he was a member of the Dean's Honor List. Joseph spent his Ivey summer internship at Brookfield Asset Management working in the power and renewable energy group focusing on project finance and M&A. He will be joining Scotiabank's Global Banking and Markets division full-time as an Investment Banking Analyst in Toronto. Beyond work, Joseph enjoys weightlifting and has recently developed a passion for backpacking.
Brendon is currently a Senior Consultant at StrategyCorp - a political consulting firm - where he advises governments, government agencies, non-profits, and private sector clients on various policy and political strategy issues. From 2016 to 2019 Brendon worked in Deloitte’s strategy consulting practice, Monitor Deloitte. While at Monitor, Brendon led projects across 10 different industries including financial services, cannabis, public sector, innovation & technology, energy & resources, and regional development. Brendon has developed detailed expertise in executive-level strategy development, working with C-Suites and Board of Directors to develop and implement 3-5 year corporate strategy, innovation strategy, M&A strategy, and growth strategy to name a few. Between August of 2018 and April of 2019, Brendon was on secondment as a Policy Advisor to the Future of Canada Centre (FCC) – Deloitte’s thought leadership and public policy institute. While at the FCC, Brendon was responsible for designing and leading the FCC’s policy consulting initiatives. In this capacity, Brendon successfully led election policy development engagements with Federal and Provincial party policy directors, Members of Parliament, and Members of Provincial Parliament. Brendon was also tasked with developing the FCC’s internal 5-year strategy (which has since been implemented) and contributing to various policy thought leadership reports. Janek is a graduate of the HBA program. He is currently an investment analyst at Anson Funds, a long/short, value-based hedge fund, with offices in Toronto and Dallas. Janek previously worked in corporate M&A in the TMT sector as well as in investment banking. Janek remains a passionate value investor in both a professional and personal capacity, with George Athanassakos playing a key role in his interest and development.
Chris obtained his MBA with honors from Ivey, where he diligently studied the value investing philosophy. His team was the first to successfully convince the board, using the value investment principals, to acquire an equity based on their research. Chris continues to manage his own portfolio using the techniques taught by The Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing and is an active Ivey Fund Fellow.
Connor is a graduate of the Ivey HBA 2017 class. He is currently working as an Analyst for UBS Investment Bank in Toronto, ON focusing on mergers & acquisitions and equity capital markets in diversified industries. Connor graduated as an Ivey Scholar from the HBA program, finishing in the top 10% of both HBA1 and HBA2 respectively.
Abhay is a graduate of the Ivey 2019 MBA program. At Ivey, he was leading social impact and investment education initiatives as the Social Impact Senator and the Vice President of the Investment Club respectively. He has been closely following and investing in stock markets since his high-school days. He has several years of experience in management consulting across sectors such as Private Equity, Financial Services and Consumer Goods, and continues to work in the industry with Bain & Company. Outside of work, Abhay loves to travel and explore new places along with his friends or family.
Ty is a graduate of the 2016 Ivey HBA class, and is working towards earning his CPA designation. He is currently a Corporate Finance analyst at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), where he monitors and reports on the investing activities of one of the world’s largest national pension funds. Previously, Ty has interned at Deloitte in Toronto. He believes that his background in accounting complements his passion for investing, and continues to apply this background in managing his personal investment portfolio. Connor obtained his HBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University, where he was Captain of the Varsity Men’s Tennis Team that won back to back OUA titles in 2013 and 2014. Prior to Ivey, Connor spent two years studying at Bryant University in Providence, RI on a tennis scholarship. He is currently working as an Investment Banking Analyst for Barclays Real Estate Group in Los Angeles, CA that focuses on Lodging and Gaming. Beyond work, Connor enjoys playing sports and has recently developed a passion for surfing.
Max is a former Associate with National Bank Investments. In addition to the Ivey MBA, he holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary as well as the CIM designation. Max is also currently working toward the CFA designation.
Nour El Damatty
Nour holds an HBA from the Ivey Business School where she graduated on the Dean's Honor List in 2017. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the Ivey Business School. She completed the Value Investing Course in 2017 when her team was awarded the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd award for the section's strongest valuation report. During her time at Ivey, Nour was a career peer mentor and teaching assistant. Nour is currently in the process of completing her CPA designation at Deloitte. After two years of working in Deloitte’s Audit Public practice, Nour transferred to the M&A Transaction Services practice as an Analyst. Apart from her involvement with the Ivey Value Fund, Nour also holds a volunteer advisor role in the Junior Achievement non-for-profit organization.
Chris is a graduate of the 2018 Ivey HBA class as well as Ivey’s Graduate Diploma in Accounting. He is pursuing his CPA at Deloitte in their external audit practice in Toronto providing advisory services to Brookfield and is also completing the CFA designation. Prior to Ivey, Chris was a competitive snowboarder and continued his passion of sport by playing on numerous sport teams. Chris strongly believes in the principles of value investing and continues to develop these skills through practice and collaboration.
Nicole is an HBA 2015 graduate of the Ivey Business School. She previously completed an investment banking internship at Goldman Sachs in New York in the Technology, Media & Telecom group. Subsequent to graduation, she is returning as a full-time analyst. At Ivey, she was Co-President of Ivey Finance Club and a Head Analyst of Western Investment Club.
Aryan is a graduate of the 2019 Ivey HBA class with a certificate in Entrepreneurship. He is currently a fellow in Venture for Canada entrepreneurship program. He is passionate about start-ups that are delivering tangible value to their customers. He believes that entrepreneurship aligns with value investing principles and this background allows him to understand key activities of firms to uncover potential value. Outside of investments, Aryan has been involved in many extracurricular activities including as a regional competitor in The Hult Prize, a member of a basketball intramural team, and volunteering for a variety of community organizations.
Jared is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2019. Prior to transferring to Ivey, he majored in International Economics and Finance as well as studied abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to completing the HBA program, he interned for two summers at RBC Wealth Management. He is now working at HSBC in Toronto as an Analyst within Global Banking and Markets and is currently working towards becoming a CFA charterholder.
Justin is a graduate of the Honors Business Administration program. Prior to attending the Ivey Business School, Justin completed two years at the University of Toronto studying Economics and Finance and spent one year working on the Risk Treasury desk with Citi Toronto. During his time as a Treasury Analyst in Toronto, Justin assisted in managing the bank’s liquidity, interest rate, and foreign exchange risk. Justin will be starting his career with Citigroup in New York City as a Sales and Trading Analyst.
Matthew holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School where he graduated with distinction. In 2016, he was awarded both the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd award given annually for the best value investing valuation report and the Robotti & Company Advisors LLC prize, awarded to the group whose stock recommendation received the highest recognition by the Fund's Advisory Board and was consequently added to the Ivey Value Fund. Prior to completing the MBA program, he worked for Canada's largest academic hospital in Toronto as a program manger in digital health for large-scale information management and technology initiatives. During his MBA, he was the Co-President of the MBA Healthcare Club and member of the Ivey ice hockey intramural team.
Prabhjeev graduated from the HBA program in 2017 and was a member of the Dean’s Honor List. Passionate about entrepreneurship from a very young age, Prabhjeev decided to start his own business after graduating. He is the co-founder of Homeshares, a real estate startup introducing home equity sharing in Canada. Prabhjeev is also a co-founder at Prolending Commercial, a commercial mortgage brokerage helping real estate entrepreneurs secure financing. With a deep appreciation for value investing principles, Prabhjeev strives to build and invest in companies that create true value.
David is a graduate of the Ivey MBA class of 2019. After graduating, David joined a Toronto-based boutique mergers and acquisitions advisory firm. He provides strategic and corporate finance advice to mid-market clients across a broad range of industries. Prior to Ivey, David worked in lower middle-market M&A and founded a sustainable agriculture venture. David is committed to deepening his knowledge of the value investing principles he learned during Ivey’s Value Investing course.
Andrew was a member of Ivey's 2016 MBA class. Upon completion, he began working for Ernst &Young on their Asset and Wealth Management Advisory team as a Senior Consultant. Prior to enrolling in the MBA program Andrew worked at the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) providing software solutions to an array of internal clients, specializing in investment management and finance. Previous to his experience at HOOPP, Andrew worked at the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTPP), where he valued, settled and reported on credit derivative positions. Andrew received his CFA Charter in 2013, and a Bachelor of Business and Science from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Anqi (Angel) Gong
Anqi (Angel) Gong is an undergraduate of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) program at National University of Singapore (NUS). During her spring-term exchange at Richard Ivey School of Business, Anqi learnt and applied the principles taught by the Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing extensively. Since then, she has started applying them in her own portfolio management. Her prior working experience includes interning in the banking and securities industry. She is currently a regional Financial Planning & Reporting analyst in the consumer goods industry.
Ajay Gopal is a 2013 graduate, with distinction, of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the Ivey Business School at Western University located in London, Ontario, Canada. Currently, Ajay is a Senior Credit Analyst with East Coast Fund Management, a Toronto-based hedge fund. Prior to attending Ivey, Ajay was an Associate at Fundamental Advisors, a New York based private equity firm focused on distressed investments within the U.S. municipal bond market. It is at Fundamental where he was first introduced to value investing, investor activism and being a contrarian to the market. Prior to that, Ajay was a Structuring Analyst at Citigroup within its U.S. Municipal Structured Products group, also in New York. He is a proponent of the value investing philosophy and currently serves as an Ivey Value Fund Fellow. Ajay also holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Electrical Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics, both from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He is a Level I CFA Candidate.
Julia is a graduate of the 2020 Ivey MBA Program. Prior to attending Ivey, Julia worked at Toronto Hydro as a Human Resources Analyst, gaining experience in workforce planning, compensation and benefits. During her time at Ivey she was a Social Impact Senator, partnering with local non-profit organizations to coordinate and lead events that provided the MBA students with an opportunity to give back to the local community. Following Ivey, Julia will be joining Deloitte as a Consultant in their HR Transformation team.
Alana completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Queen's. After finishing her thesis, she moved to Germany to live, work and travel. Upon returning to Canada she worked for a few years as manager at a Spine Surgery Research Centre in Saint John, NB. However, she wanted to continue to expand her skills in a faster-paced environment and deliver greater impact - in came the Ivey MBA. Value Investing was her favourite course at Ivey and she is very excited to have been selected as an Ivey Value Fund fellow. Outside of the fund, she enjoys long walks with her dog and loves to ski, bike, read, and travel. She is also a Consultant at Bain & Company’s Toronto office.
Ryan is a graduate of the 2016 Ivey HBA program. He has held numerous roles at RBC including a Macroeconomic Research Analyst role at RBC Dominion Securities, a Junior Operations Analyst role at RBC Technology and Operations, and a Trade Support Analyst role at RBC Global Asset Management. Currently, Ryan is working as a Senior Treasury Analyst at CIBC where he specializes in unsecured treasury financing. He is working towards his CFA Level 1 in December 2016 and continues to implement the principles of value investing to his own personal investment portfolio. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys downhill skiing, music production and golf.
Mengyu is an undergraduate of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) program at the National University of Singapore(NUS). She came to Ivey School of Business for the 2013 Spring term as part of NUS student exchange program. Her prior experience includes interning at P&G as a research analyst. Currently, she is an associate at a private equity firm-Tembusu Partners. She continues to apply the principles learnt from Ben Graham Center for Value Investing regularly during her course of work. Her current portfolio covers a wide range of industries like petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and media.
Elisabeth is a graduate of Ivey's HBA ('12) and MBA ('19) programs. Prior to returning to Ivey, Elisabeth worked in Corporate Strategy at Ceridian, helping the business scale to successfully hit its ambitious growth targets. Today, Elisabeth is helping Canada Goose achieve its goal of conquering the world. Elisabeth is eager to continue to learn about Value Investing principles as a Fund Fellow.
Quinn is a graduate of the Ivey HBA 2017 class, where he was a member of the Dean’s Honour List. Prior to completing his HBA, Quinn graduated from the University of Guelph in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with distinction. Quinn spent his summer at Cumberland Private Wealth Management in Toronto, assisting the Portfolio Managers with prospective investments from a wide range of industries for the long-only portfolio.
Charles’ experience in banking includes roles in structured finance, lending, leveraged finance and M&A. Most recently, he held the title of associate in Scotiabank’s Private Equity Sponsor Group where he worked on leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations and other PE led transactions in both Canada and the US. Charles obtained his MBA from Ivey with honours, where he received top marks in its finance and value investing curricula, and served as President of the Finance Club helping to organize events and promote learning opportunities for fellow students. Charles holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from McGill University and has also completed levels one and two of the CFA accreditation.
Jack is a graduate of the Ivey HBA Class of 2020. He is currently working for HGC Investment Management based out of Toronto. Jack served as a Head Analyst on the Western Investment Club for the Real Estate, Healthcare, and Gaming portfolio.
Lisa is a 2014 graduate of Ivey’s HBA program. She has a longstanding interest in investing, and has managed her own portfolio since 2008. Zen is a 2021 MBA graduate of the Ivey Business School and a CFA Charterholder. Prior to Ivey, Zen worked for over five years in Corporate Strategy and Financial Analytics roles at Mu Sigma, Citibank and FinTech startups. Post his MBA, Zen continues to pursue a career in Strategy and Analytics with a focus on FinTech and Payments.
Raheel graduated from the Honors Business Administration program at Ivey Business School in 2015. He has worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse and Standard Bank as well as a Private Equity Analyst in Toronto. After having the opportunity to visit Warren Buffet via Ivey he was inspired by the world of value investing and now holds a value investing view in his analysis of companies and business investments.
Derek is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2018. During his HBA program, Derek interned for a summer in Seoul, South Korea as an analyst for AskStory, a start-up tech venture. As an analyst for an international firm, Derek has developed his research for foreign markets and believes that his skills will provide key insights to finding and identifying value within global equities. Derek is currently a valuation analyst at Altus Group and hopes to apply value investing within the commercial real estate industry.
Davit is a firm follower of Value Investing principles. He is pursuing his master’s degree in Finance at Aalto University’s School of Business in Helsinki, Finland. He received the highest grades (5/5) from his bachelor’s thesis on “Value and Profitability Premium in the Finnish Stock Market” at Aalto University. Side by side his bachelor’s studies, he worked part time as a Service and Compensation Advisor at Local Tapiola Insurance Company. As an exchange student, he attended Professor George Athanassakos’ course on Value Investing, and was awarded The Stacey Muirhead Capital Management Ltd. Prize. On top of enjoying to educate himself by reading everything even slightly related to investing, Davit is a defenseman for Helsinki Chiefs Lacrosse and has represented Team Finland in both European and World Games of Lacrosse (2012 and 2010). During summer 2015, Davit worked as an analyst intern at Nordea Markets Corporate Finance Advisory in Helsinki.
Faiz is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2016. He is currently pursuing his CPA, working as an Associate in the Assurance Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PWC). Faiz has had diverse work experiences working in Sales, IT and the Non-Profit industries, where he has developed skills beyond his passion and academic learning of Finance & Accounting. Faiz is actively involved in the London community through volunteering and strives to be a leader at Western by mentoring new students. Faiz is extremely passionate about investing with a specific interest for IPO’s and applies the strategic value investing principles for his own personal portfolio.
Thomas is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2020. He has launched multiple ventures through his family business, namely the sports entertainment company Golfuture. Thomas currently works on the portfolio operations team of a small venture capital fund.
Mira is a 2017 graduate of the Master of Financial Economics (MFE) program at Western University. She spent her summer internship in the Funds Management and Banking Department at the Bank of Canada. Prior to joining the MFE graduate program, she was pursuing an Actuary and Financial Mathematics degree at McMaster University on a volleyball scholarship and playing on the Varsity Women’s Volleyball Team. She is now working at TD Bank on the Pension Investment Management team as a Senior Analyst. Mira is a CFA Level III Candidate.
David worked in the commercial finance division of GE Capital Canada prior to joining the Ivey MBA Program, holding roles in sales, risk management and portfolio management in his time with the company. In his most recent role, David was a member of a newly formed risk management that was mandated to rapidly structure and decision complex credit applications less than $1M. David holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
Joe is a graduate of the 2018 Ivey HBA class and is pursuing his CPA designation. He is currently employed as a Staff Accountant at Ernst & Young in their Assurance Practice where his role involves the audit of large financial service organizations. He has a large passion for investments and strongly believes that his accounting background provides key insights to understanding and evaluating financial reports. Outside of investments, Joe has a large community focus, volunteering across many not-for-profit organizations such as Junior Achievers, and Habitat for Humanity. His involvement is also demonstrated on campus through mentoring and student event planning. In the future Joe hopes to continue his education and obtain an international MBA before pursuing a private equity position.
Max is a class of 2020 graduate of the Ivey HBA program. He previously completed an internship in investment banking and capital markets at Credit Suisse in Toronto. Following graduation, he is returning as a full-time analyst. At Ivey, he was a Head Analyst of Western Investment Club.
Colin graduated in 2013 with a dual-degree in Honours Business Administration (Ivey School of Business) and Bachelors of Engineering Science (Chemical Engineering) with distinction at Western University. Prior to university, Colin attended St. George’s School in Vancouver, BC where he had a personal interest in behavioral finance. Since then, he has actively managed his personal portfolio utilizing the basics of both value investing and technical analysis when decision making in order to maximize returns. Colin currently works full-time in the engineering consulting industry, coaches competitive fencing, tutors accounting, plays jazz trumpet and continues to research potential investment opportunities.
Greg is a graduate of the Ivey HBA 2019 class. Greg also completed BA (Honors) in economics program at Western University in 2019, receiving Mark K. Inman essay prize and the highest core course average award. Greg has completed a two-year military service in South Korea in 2017, during which he completed and passed all USCPA exams. Upon returning to complete the remaining two years in the program, Greg passed CFA Level 1 in December 2017 and CFA Level 2 in June 2019. Greg is passionate about pursuing a career in value investing and currently completing his internship at Ewing Morris & Co. Investment Partners.
Zach is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2018, and is currently pursuing his JD/MBA at the University of Toronto. Previously, Zach has interned as an analyst at First Capital Realty, Institutional Mortgage Capital, and Sionna Investment Managers, a prominent Canadian value investing firm. Zach plans on pursuing a career in corporate law where he hopes to work in private equity or real estate.
Alice is a 2014 graduate from the Honors Business Administration program at Ivey Business School. She is currently in the Investment Division Rotational Program at Manulife where she has the chance to work with portfolio managers across several investment teams. She applies the skills and principles taught by the Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing to analyze and make strategic recommendations on investment opportunities as well as to actively manage her own portfolio.
Watson is a 2014 Ivey HBA Graduate. He is the winner of Fairfax Value Investing Competition and the recipient of the Patient Capital Award. He has been working at China Huarong Management Corporation (CHAMC), one of biggest Chinese investment management firms, with over 60 billion in assets, for over three years and was involved with multiple Ivey Value Fund activities. He is a strong believer in the value investing approach and is working towards his CFA Level 1 certificate.
Cecilia is a graduate of the Ivey HBA Class of 2017, where she graduated on the Dean’s Honours List and was Co-President of the Ivey Finance Club. She is currently working as an Investment Banking Analyst for Moelis & Company in Los Angeles. Previously, Cecilia interned at TD Bank in their Modelling and Hedging Strategies group, and as an Equities Analyst at the Toronto Stock Exchange. Outside of work, Cecilia enjoys dancing, cooking, and travelling.
As a Chartered Accountant, Alan has in-depth experience in finance and accounting. He has helped clients work through valuations of their businesses and assets in numerous industries. He obtained his MBA, with distinction, from the Ivey Business School where he was a Vice-President of the Ivey MBA Consulting Club. While at Ivey, he studied the principles of Value Investing, which he continues to apply in his personal portfolio.
Josh is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2016. He is currently working for Acasta Capital, a boutique merchant bank and advisory firm in Toronto that is focused on mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, investor activism and corporate strategy. Josh graduated as an Ivey Scholar from the HBA program, finishing in the top 10% in both HBA1 and HBA2. Josh was awarded the Stacey Muirhead Capital Management Price for his passion for value investing and for his application of value investing principles.
Brooke is a graduate of the 2019 Ivey MBA Program. Prior to the MBA, she worked for a subsidiary of News Corp. as a sales professional helping CPGs create and execute marketing campaigns. While at Ivey, Brooke participated in the LEADER program, the Social Impact Club, and the MBA Rugby World Cup. Currently she is working at Microsoft, helping customers achieve more through redefining their processes with Business Applications.
Justin is a graduate of the HBA 2017 class, where he ran the TMX Options Trading Simulation, held annually by the Montreal Exchange. He is currently working for Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services – Mergers and Acquisition group based out of Montreal. Prior to Ernst & Young, Justin worked as a financial analyst at XPND Capital, a Montreal-based private-equity firm operating in the fields of technology, media, entertainment and electric transportation. Prior to Ivey, Justin studied economics at Western University. Beyond work and investing, Justin sits on the Jean-Eudes Alumni Association Board and enjoys activities such as acting, rugby and cross-country running.
Michael is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2018. Prior to graduating, Michael interned at OPTrust as an Investment Analyst under the Office of the CIO. Following Ivey, he will be working at Citigroup in Toronto as a Sales Trading Analyst on the Equity Derivatives desk. He has been passionate about investing since the age of 14 when he first began trading his own account.
Vishwanath is a 2016 graduate from the masters of business administration (MBA) class in Ivey business school. He has been an investor in the Indian equity markets since 2009. After taking the course of value investing in Ivey, he has developed a deep passion for valuing companies and aspires to follow diligently the principles of value investing. He has three and half years of IT program management and has developed and implemented risk management strategies across the organization with a focus on continuous improvement.
Gavin is a graduate of the 2017 Ivey HBA Program. He is currently working as an Investment Banking Analyst at Valitas Capital Partners in Toronto, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Gavin has interned with a VC fund in Israel and Nexus Capital Markets in New York. In his free time, Gavin enjoys keeping active by running and playing hockey.
Stefanie is currently enrolled in her final term as a Master of Financial Economics candidate at Western University. Before attending Western, she completed a Bachelor’s of Commerce degree at McGill University with a major in Finance and a minor in Mathematics. Stefanie has also previously interned in the areas of Corporate Finance and Investment Management.
Manbir is a graduate of the Ivey MBA Class of 2019. He currently works as a Consultant at Capco, where he has directly worked on client engagements focused on Business Case generation, Customer Experience Digitization and Process Transformation. Prior to coming to Ivey, Manbir worked in life & wealth management segment of AXA Insurance where he led investment and savings product development for the middle east mass market. Manbir also has 3 years of experience in downstream Oil & Gas industry, wherein he gained experience in retail & commercial business development and distribution network management for utilities. Outside of work, Manbir enjoys reading, researching on stocks, and global economy.
Maanit Patel is expected to graduate in Spring of 2021. He previously completed an internship as a research analyst at Dodge & Cox in San Francisco and is currently completing an internship as a private equity analyst at Ares Management in Los Angeles. At Ivey, he was the fund manager for the Western Investment Club.
Julian is a graduate of the HBA 2017 class, where he was a member of the Dean’s Honours List, won the Fairfax Financial Prize in Value Investing, and won the Fred Jones Prize in Finance. He is currently working as a Private Capital Analyst at FirePower Capital in Toronto, focusing on high yield private credit and private equity investments. Outside of work, Julian enjoys basketball, reading, and music.
Riley is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2019. He has completed summer internships at Scotiabank within their credit derivatives business, as well as DRW within their Event-Driven Equities group. Riley currently works at Portland Investment Counsel, and is committed to pursuing a long-term career in value investing. Outside of work, he enjoys hockey and cycling. Riley is working toward obtaining both his CBV and CFA designations.
Hemaka is a 2021 MBA graduate of the Ivey Business School and a CFA Charterholder. Prior to Ivey, Hemaka worked for over five years as an equity research analyst providing coverage on the Telecom, Media and Technology sector in Asia. Post his MBA, Hemaka continues to pursue a career in investing with a focus on the emerging markets.
Tom is a 2016 graduate of the HBA & Economics dual-degree program offered jointly by Ivey Business School and Western University. He is currently completing a summer internship in risk management at CIBC. Previously, he has worked at RBC Financial Group in digital channel management where he helped improve the bank's digital strategy and operations. He also has experience working in the front-line as a teller for RBC Royal Bank. He has a keen interest in value investing and is currently pursuing CFA level 1.
Azzam is a graduate of the Ivey HBA 2016 class. He is currently working as a consulting analyst for Info-Tech Research Group. In the past he has worked in private equity, commercial banking and internal consulting where he gained and refined a large variety of financial skills. Azzam’ passion for investing started at a young age and he continues to investing using value investing principals in his personal life.
Partho is an MBA 2018 graduate at Ivey MBA program and is the VP Finance of the MBA Association. Prior to joining Ivey, he worked in the Operational Risk department for Societe Generale where he helped the firm improve its risk management practices. He has been investing in equities since 2015 and was introduced to value investing techniques while attending Ivey. Outside of work, he loves travelling, cooking and is an avid fan of formula 1 racing.
Richard is a graduate of the 2019 Ivey MBA Program. Prior to the start of the Ivey MBA, he held various category management roles, working for Target Canada and Sears Canada and most recently as a consultant at NY Brand Studio. Richard was introduced to Value Investing principles while at Ivey and hopes to continue to invest in undervalued companies and expand his knowledge in this field.
Rishi obtained his MBA, with distinction, from the Ivey Business School, where he was co-President of the Management Consulting Club. Prior to attending Ivey, Rishi worked for a Canadian medical software company where he grew to design, develop and manage a mission-critical, real-time, hardware monitoring, software suite. His business ambitions were fuelled when he was selected to construct a distribution network in India and the Middle East. Rishi, who has been an active investor since 2007, was introduced to the disciplined philosophy of Value Investing while attending Ivey. Rishi also possesses a Bachelor of Sciences in Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta.
Andrew is a graduate of Ivey’s HBA Class of 2017. He currently works as an Equity Research Associate at Echelon Wealth Partners, and previously held summer internships with CIBC Equity Derivatives, RBC Pension Investments, and Sprott Asset Management Operations. Through his work and extra-curricular experiences, Andrew has developed his research, financial modelling and valuation skills. He is currently working towards becoming a CFA charterholder. Andrew has a long history of engagement with his community. He recently assisted his professor with a value investing seminar, and has previously volunteered with local not-for-profit organizations such as Windrush Stables Therapeutic Riding Centre, Toronto Brigantine, and Oakville Soccer Club.
James is a graduate of the 2017 Ivey HBA program. He is currently working for Credit Suisse in its Technology Investment Banking group based out of San Francisco. Having become interested in investing in high school, James became an active member of Western Investment Club and acted as the Head Analyst of Technology, Media and Telecommunications in his final year at Ivey. In the past, he was mutual fund licensed in Ontario prior to working with a search fund on its acquisition of a software as a service company. James has a particular interest in clean technology and outside of work enjoys a game of squash and hunting for fantastic food.
Teimur is an Honours Business Administration Candidate at the Ivey Business School. Before entering Ivey, Teimur had completed two years at Western University studying economics. He has also completed past internships in accounting, advisory, and investment banking, and will be joining Evercore's Mergers and Acquisitions group full-time.
Richard is an MBA 2016 graduate from the Ivey Business School with extensive consulting experience. Prior to Ivey, Richard worked at Deloitte Consulting where he focused on advising financial services clients in Technology Strategy. At Ivey, Richard was Co-President of Ivey’s Consulting Club. He is now a Manager in PwC’s Financial Services Consulting Group where he helps clients navigate through the mystifying financial technology landscape. He also holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Andy is a graduate of the HBA 2018 class at the Ivey School of business. Andy has held an investment analyst position for 2 years at the value fund Cunningham Investment Group, from 2018 to 2020, where he also helped the portfolio manager organize stock presentations to investors of the fund since 2014. As a curious and critical thinking business graduate, Andy is now pursuing a masters in Behavioral Science and Research Methods at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Alex is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2019. Following Ivey, he will be returning to Western University for a year to complete his BSc in Biology dual degree. Alex has previous internship experience at Scotiabank, most recently as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst, and hopes to pursue a career in Finance.
Lovedeep is a 2019 Dual Degree graduate from the Ivey HBA program and the Engineering Faculty at Western University. He worked a summer analyst on the Development team at Oxford Properties (OMERS) prior to completing his HBA at Ivey, where he developed his skills in valuations and financial modelling. Lovedeep’s interest for value investing started with reading "Margin of Safety” by Seth Klarman. Lovedeep avidly indulges in investing books and podcasts. He is passionate about pursuing a career in value investing and real estate development and hopes to continue to invest in undervalued companies and expand his knowledge in this field. Outside of work, Lovedeep enjoys running, biking and researching real estate development opportunities.
Ryan is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2018 as well as Ivey’s Graduate Diploma in Accounting. In 2018, his group was awarded the Robotti & Company Advisors LLC honor given to the group whose stock recommendation received the highest recognition by the Fund's Advisory Board and was added to the Value Fund. During his undergraduate studies, Ryan was involved in several extracurricular activities including, President of the Western Accounting Association, a member of a hockey intermural team and an Ivey Teaching and Research Assistant. Prior to completing the HBA program, he interned in PwC ‘s audit practice and BMO Nesbitt Burns wealth management group. Currently, he is pursuing his CPA and CFA in KPMG’s M&A transaction services group.
Brian obtained his HBA from the Ivey Business School in 2016, where he was a member of the Dean's Honours List. Prior to his HBA2 year, Brian worked at State Street in a client services role and with prominent finance website Wallstreetoasis.com. Brian is actively seeking employment in the investment management industry and is pursuing his CFA designation. Beyond work, Brian is an avid traveller and a fan of many sports, including a strong passion for baseball.
Aaron is a graduate of the Ivey HBA class of 2017. He also graduated with a concurrent Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Western University. He is currently working for Greenhill & Co., a boutique investment bank that is focused on mergers and acquisitions and financial restructurings. Prior to Greenhill, Aaron interned at an engineering firm, Hatch Ltd., where he gained exposure to the mining industry. Aaron graduated as an Ivey Scholar from the HBA program, finishing in the top 10% in both HBA1 and HBA2.
Daniel is a 2015 graduate of the HBA program at Ivey and completed his GDip in Accounting in the summer of 2015 at Western University. While at Ivey, Daniel fundraised for and organized the Ivey Israel Business Trip, in which 25 HBA students traveled to Israel for a week to learn hands on about the rich business environment and entrepreneurial spirit in Israel. He currently works at Ernst and Young in the Private Mid-Market Services as a staff accountant and in his spare time manages his own portfolio using value investing principles. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys running, reading and traveling.
Adam graduated from the Ivey HBA program in 2020 on the Dean’s Honours List. Prior to entering Ivey, he studied Business Administration at Wilfred Laurier University. He is interested in business transformation and strategy and has begun his career as an associate consultant at Capco. Adam continues to pursue his passion for investing with published articles and through his personal portfolio.
Jeffery is expected to graduate from Ivey in 2022 with a dual degree in computer science. Jeffery has also completed internships in accounting and data analytics in the financial services industry. In his free time, Jeffery enjoys reading, playing basketball, and working out.
Robert is a graduate of the HBA program at the Ivey Business School. He has worked in multiple industries including investment banking, asset management, and equity research where he developed financial modelling, market research, and data aggregation skills. Most recently he worked as a trading credit analyst, where he was responsible for the monitoring of daily credit risk positions. He also helped develop a trading credit model to help control the impact exposure measurements in the trading and non-trading products. Robert speaks fluent Mandarin and passed the CFA exam level III.
Taylor is a graduate of the MBA class of 2019. He is presently a Consultant with Boston Consulting Group and joined the firm in 2019. At BCG, Taylor has helped major public companies transform their organizations and build out advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities. Prior to Ivey, Taylor graduated from the Wilfrid Laurier University's BBA program in 2013, and following that worked at PepsiCo Beverages Canada in a variety of finance roles with progressive responsibility. During his time at Ivey, Taylor was an Executive Director for The LEADER Project, an organization that teaches two week boot camps focused on entrepreneurship in developing and emerging economies. Taylor continues to support the LEADER Project as a member of its Advisory Board.
Siyuan (Derrick) Wong
Siyuan is an undergraduate of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) program at National University of Singapore (NUS). Siyuan works at the group investment and treasury department of Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (iDA Singapore). He monitors and performs fundamental analysis for the group’s investment portfolios. His main focus is on North American and Asian equities. Beyond work, Siyuan has started his own value portfolio to apply the principles that are taught at The Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing.
Cheryl Wu, CFA
Cheryl is a graduate in the Ivey MBA class of 2021. Prior to the program, she worked as a professional accountant for over 7 years, in both public practice and the energy industry. Cheryl also received her CFA Charter in 2017.
Prior to pursuing MBA at Ivey, Andriy had a diverse investment and equity research experience, most recently working as an Investment Analyst at a mutual fund in the Philippines. His prior experience includes being an equity research analyst covering agricultural and consumer goods sectors in Ukraine and working as an Associate at Shamrock Activist Value Fund (USA), where he received initial introduction to value investing and investor activism. Andriy has a Bachelors degree in Management from National Agricultural University of Ukraine and a Masters degree in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University in the USA. He has also passed all three levels of the CFA Program.
George graduated from the Ivey HBA program in 2018 and now works in corporate development. George’s interest for investing started with reading books on Warren Buffett and Seth Klarman. Outside of school and work, George enjoys cooking, hiking, and travelling.
Arete is a graduate of the Master of Financial Economics program at the University of Western Ontario, class of 2017. She spent her summer internship on the trading floor at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where she learnt about different asset classes and trading strategies. She also holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. Arete is currently an Associate Portfolio Advisor and Exchange Traded Fund Analyst within the Portfolio Advisory Group at RBC Dominion Securities. She is a CFA Level III Candidate.
Alan is a graduate of the Ivey HBA Class of 2019. Prior to completing the HBA program, Alan worked as a summer research analyst at a long-short equity fund overseas in Shanghai. Alan currently works at Portland Investment Counsel where he has assisted with multiple due diligence processes within the TMT sector. Through these experiences, Alan has developed his skills in valuations and financial modelling and is working towards becoming a CFA charterholder. Outside of the office, Alan enjoys playing basketball and spending time outdoors.
