November 17-19, 2017 marked the fourth annual Hack Western competition, and the Scotiabank Digital Banking Lab’s second year as the sponsor for the event. Once again, the event was a huge success.
More than 2100 applications were received and over 500 hackers selected to participate in teams of four. With the support of the Scotiabank Digital Banking Lab, the Scotiabank Digital Factory sponsored two prizes at this year’s event: Best FinTech Hack and Best Startup Idea.
The winners of the two Scotiabank Digital Factory sponsored prizes were:
Best FinTech Hack: Arcade Bank, Sri Gannavarapu & Katherine Stumpf (Western University)
Best Startup Idea for $3,000 in seed money: BloxOffice, Jason Brown & Sean Bradley (Western University)
