Ivey Scholarships and Awards are available to our HBA students during the course of the program, from admission to convocation. The recipient selection is extremely competitive due to the high calibre of students admitted to the Ivey HBA Program.

The award finder tool below provides an overview and brief description of each award and category available to our students.  Please note while we try our best to maintain the accuracy of this website, the information is subject to change. The HBA Admission Award application is within the "Apply for Awards" section in the HBA application and AEO2 Intent to Register. There is not a separate application for these awards.

EntrepreneurshipDon Lang HBA Scholarship in EntrepreneurshipAwarded annually to full-time HBA students accepted into the Certificate in Entrepreneurship program at the Ivey Business School based on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership skills, and personification of the spirit, passion and drive necessary to become a successful entrepreneur.  A shortlist of potential recipients will be determined by the Director of the Pierre L. Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship based on applications to the Certificate in Entrepreneurship, with final selection of the recipients made by the HBA Scholarship Review Committee.  This scholarship was established by a generous gift from Donald Lang, HBA ’80 with Foundation Western. 4 @ $10,000$10000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsDoug McGregor HBA AwardAwarded to a student entering HBA Year 1 at the Ivey Business School who has graduated from a high school in the City of London or Middlesex County and has demonstrated financial need. This award will continue in HBA Year 2 provided that the student maintains a 70% average and demonstrates financial need. The lvey HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient after the Office of the Registrar assesses financial need. 1 @ $5,000 continuing.$5000
Merit ScholarshipsDr. Samuel A. Martin HBA '90 ScholarshipAwarded annually to a student entering HBA1 or HBA2 at the Ivey Business School based on academic achievement and demonstrated community leadership. The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award.This scholarship was established by a generous gift from the HBA Class of 1990 in memory and honour of their late professor Dr. Samuel A. Martin, and in recognition of their 20th Class Reunion. $10000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsEdward Kernaghan HBA AwardAwarded to a student entering their first year of the HBA Program based on financial need and minimum 'B' average. The student must meet Ontario residency requirements. The award will be renewed for year two given the defined criteria in HBA year one is met. If a student does not meet these requirements, year two students will have an opportunity to apply for this award. The HBA Scholarship Committee of the Ivey Business School will review and select the award recipient. The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award. This award is made possible in recognition of a generous donation made by Edward Kernaghan (HBA '65) through Foundation Western. 1 @ $2,300 continuing$2300
Merit ScholarshipsElizabeth Sullivan Award in BusinessAwarded annually to a full-time student entering HBA 1 with a minimum 70% average who graduated from a City of Windsor or Essex County public high school. The award will be renewed for year two for students who successfully completed HBA 1. If a student does not meet these requires, year two students will have an opportunity to apply for this award. In the inaugural year of the award, an HBA2 candidate will also be selected. The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award. This award was established by a bequest from Mrs. Elizabeth C. Sullivan (BA'46) with Foundation Western. 1 @ $2,000 continuing$2000
Merit ScholarshipsEMCO Corporation Scholarship in Business Administration Awarded to a student entering HBA 1 at the Ivey Business School based on academic achievement and community leadership. Preference will be given to students with a career objective in manufacturing or marketing. The HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. This scholarship was made possible through the generosity of EMCO Limited.$3500
Financial Need and Merit AwardsEnactus Canada Entrepreneurial AwardAwarded to a student entering HBA1 with a minimum 70% average and financial need. Preference will be given to a student who is or has been a member of Enactus Canada (formerly Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship - ACE). This award was established with a generous gift from Mr. Ian Aitken, HBA '87.$5000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsEnbridge AwardAwarded to a student in their first year of the HBA program who has a minimum 'B' average and demonstrates financial need. The award is established through the generosity of Enbridge Gas. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award.$1800
Merit ScholarshipsEric A. Morris QuantumShift Fellow HBA Entrepreneurship AwardAwarded annually to a full-time student entering HBA1 at the Ivey Business School, who graduated from a publicly funded high school and is based on academic achievement, leadership skill and personification of the spirit, passion and drive necessary to become a successful entrepreneur. The HBA Scholarship Committee, in consultation with the Pierre L. Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship, will make the final selection of the recipient. This award was established with a generous gift from the QuantumShift Fellows to recognize the leadership and contributions of QuantumShift program founder Eric A. Morse. $4500
Merit ScholarshipsErik Mikkelson HBA '06 Entrepreneurship AwardAwarded annually to a full-time student entering the HBA program at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, interest in entrepreneurship, and engagement in a variety of activities outside the classroom, including, but not limited to, leadership on campus and in the community, athletic involvement and/or part-time work experience. Preference will be given to a student in the top 25% of the applicant pool, based on academic performance. The recipient will be selected by the HBA Scholarship Committee. This award was established with a generous gift from Erik Mikkelsen, HBA ’06, to recognize and provide support for aspiring future entrepreneurs. 1 @ $10,000$10000
Merit ScholarshipsFarida & R.K. Rahemtulla HBA ScholarshipAwarded annually to a first-year undergraduate student at Western who has been accepted into Ivey's Advanced Entry Opportunity (AEO), and who graduated from a publicly-funded high school in Alberta. The recipient will be awarded $5,000 in AEO Year 1 and $10,000 in HBA 1. If, for any reason, the AEO recipient does not enter HBA 1 at Ivey, they will forfeit the $10,000, and another HBA 1 student who meets the award criteria, with preference given to qualified students who graduated from a publicly-funded high school in Alberta, and who is seeking to transfer to Western to attend HBA 1, will have the opportunity to apply for this award. The HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the award recipient. This award was established by a generous gift from Zaheeda & Nav Rahemtulla, HBA'98. 1 @ $15,000 continuing ($5,000 awarded in AEO1 year, $10,000 in HBA1 year)$15000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsFoundation Western HBA Continuing AwardAwarded to a student entering HBA1 based on academic achievement, demonstrated financial need, and community leadership. This award will continue for HBA2 provided that the recipient continues to demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, and community leadership. The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award. This award was established through the generosity of Western alumni donors who made a gift to Foundation Western. 1 @ $6,000 continuing$6000
Convocation AwardsFred Jones Prize in FinanceAwarded to a full-time HBA student who takes four or more finance courses in his or her final year and who demonstrates outstanding ability in finance. The recipient will be selected by the Finance Area teaching group faculty at the Ivey Business School. This is a convocation award.$500
Merit ScholarshipsGalashan Family HBA AwardAwarded annually to a full-time student entering HBA1 at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, an interest in a career in investment banking or private equity and from the Greater Hamilton Area. This award will be renewed for HBA2 provided the candidates maintain a minimum 80% average. The HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the award recipients. This scholarship was established with a generous gift from Kris Galashan (HBA ’00). Value: 1 at $10,000, continuing for two years $10000
Merit ScholarshipsGareth Coombes HBA International Travel FundAnnually, the fund will provide $2,000 to an HBA student participating in the international experience of the Service Learning in Africa course to relieve some of the expenses incurred to participate. Preference will be given to a candidate who exemplifies Gareth’s spirit of adventure and his passion for learning. Preference will be given to a student who requires financial assistance to cover travel costs in order to participate in this international experience.$2000
Merit ScholarshipsGeneral Motors of Canada Company HBA Scholarship Awarded to a student entering first year of the HBA program based on academic achievement. Preference for receiving this scholarship will be given to the following equity-deserving individuals who self-identify as a: woman, visible minority, persons with a disability, or as first generation students (the first members of their families to attend a university). The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award.$1600
Merit ScholarshipsGraywood Developments HBA Real Estate AwardAwarded annually to a full-time student who is enrolled in the Honors Business Administration program at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, community leadership and an interest in real estate. Interest in real estate will be measured by each candidate's response to a short essay question. Preference will be given to a student who self-identifies as Black or Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit or Métis). The HBA Scholarship Review Committee will make the final selection of the award recipient. This award was established with a generous gift from Graywood Developments. Value: 1 at $7,500 $7500
Merit ScholarshipsHarbour Grace Holdings, Inc. HBA ScholarshipAwarded to full-time HBA students at the Ivey Business School who have applied for acceptance into the HBA/BESc dual degree program. The recipients will be Canadian Citizens who have graduated from a publicly-funded high school. This award will continue for Year 4 and Year 5 provided that the recipients maintain a 75% average, and remain in the HBA/BESc dual degree program. A shortlist of award recipients will be determined by the HBA Program Office based on applications to the HBA/BESc dual degree program. The HBA Scholarship Review Committee will make the final selection of the recipients. If the recipient fails to retain, no replacement will be selected and a review of the funding will have to take place. Financial Need and Merit AwardsHarold Crabtree Foundation HBA AwardAwarded to a student in HBA Year 1 based on academic achievement (minimum 70% average) and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to recipients who showed an interest in Canadian Studies prior to admittance into the HBA program. The recipient will receive the award in HBA Year 2 provided they continues to maintain their average and demonstrates financial need. A new recipient will be selected when the current recipient no longer qualifies. Only one student will hold this award in any given year. A new award will be given out every other year (even number years).$3600
Merit ScholarshipsHarold Crookell Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to an international student entering HBA 1 based on academic achievement (minimum 80% average) and demonstrated community leadership. The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award. This award was established in memory of Professor Harold Crookell, who believed in diversity and the development of global business leaders. $2900
