Air Canada’s flight attendants served strike notice Friday saying they are prepared to walk off the job shortly after midnight Wednesday morning if a new labour deal is not reached by then.
While talks continue between management and the Air Canada Component of CUPE, which represents 6,800 flight attendants, the parties remain apart on certain wage, work rule, and pension issues.
Both management and the union say they remain committed to reaching a negotiated settlement. But if a deal cannot be hammered out by Tuesday night, Air Canada could be faced with its second strike in three months.
