Nailing a job interview, pitching a business idea, and persuading your team with sound data analysis. What do these all have in common? Knowing how to sell. The Ivey Sales Club helps you learn to do exactly that. Founded in 2020 by its co-president Taja Mclean, Taja stated, “I wanted to start something of my own rather than stepping into someone else’s shoes.” Her goal with starting the Ivey Sales Club was to offer something impactful which would apply to all HBA students. Her interest in pursuing a career in sales made this the perfect outlet for her to begin gaining experience.
The knowledge and experience gained in this club is applicable to any industry, making sales knowledge a cardinal asset for anyone. Whether you are a student or worker, it is always important to let your unique qualities shine; to show others what strengths and creativity you bring to the table. Mastering the art of selling makes you a better competitor, opening doors of opportunity in your life.
The club offers several executive positions yearly: such as conference director and four vice president roles covering media, events, internal affairs, and partnership. Members of the club are also included in various events such as their “Sales Boot Camp” and conference calls with professionals who provide insight based on experience. Planned events for this year include Flagship Sales Career Day, pitching competition events, and workshops that develop data storytelling skills and more.
If you are intrigued by the idea of becoming a better student, leader, colleague, entrepreneur, or if you are fascinated by the world of sales, then the Ivey Sales Club is the perfect place to be.
