Application Steps
Applicants are encouraged to visit the Admissions Overview page to review all requirements before submitting an application.
Only complete applications will be reviewed.
Access to the Western University Graduate Application requires one of two sets of credentials:
- If you have never applied to Western University before you will require a temporary Western Applicant Account. The temporary Western Applicant Account (login, password) can be created on the initial page of the application. Click on the Create Account button and fill in the required information.
- If you have applied to Western previously you were given a Western Student Identity (login, password). You can use an active Western Student Identity to login to the Student Center and create a new Western University Graduate Application. If you need to re-activate your Western Student Identity please follow the steps outlined on the Student Center homepage.
Selcect Program and Degree
- Academic Program: Business Administration.
- Academic Degree: Choose the discipline to which you are applying.
- Please note if you are applying to a General Management area (i.e. Business, Economics, and Public Policy, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Strategy, and/or Sustainability) you must select "PhD - GM: BEPP, Entr, Intl Bus, Strat or Sustain". Later in the application system, you will be able to specify which of these disciplines you are interested in.
- Ensure you click Save periodically as you complete the application so that no information is lost.
Your status in Canada refers to your citizenship at the time you submit your application. If you hold citizenship outside of Canada, you should select Study Permit.
Select Find School to search for the university, or universities, you attended.
If you are an international applicant, an English Language Test score is required. For details, see our Admissions Overview page.
It is important to complete this section early in the process. A unique link will be emailed to each referee, allowing them to submit their material via a secure online site.
- Ensure email addresses are entered accurately.
- Check on this page regularly to ensure letters of reference have been submitted.
If applying to a General Management discipline, this is the section where you indicate the area to which you are applying.
Complete the application fee payment of $185 CAD.
- Payment must be cleared for your application to be reviewed.
- International applicants can only pay by credit card.
- Canadian applicants have the choice of credit card or money order (must be a money order or bank draft issued from a Canadian Banking Institution).
Upload all required documentation to the Supplementary Documents section. Please check the Admissions Overview page for all requirements.
- Upload a copy of each official transcript.
- Upload an unofficial copy of your GRE, GMAT, or GMAT Focus Edition report. This requirement may not be waived or substituted.
- Arrange to have official results sent directly to our office by the issuing authority.
- Upload an official copy of your English Language Test report (if applicable).
- Arrange to have official results sent directly to our office by the issuing authority.
- If you are requesting an English Language Test score waiver, upload your letter of request.
- Upload your Statement of Research and Professional Interests.
- Upload your CV/resumé.
- Review all of your information in the Submit Application section.
- Click Submit at the bottom of the page.
- Once your application is submitted you will not be able to make changes. If you need to make a change after submitting the application, please contact us.
