Why Ivey?

Ivey’s HBA program provides a unique case based learning method, simulating experiences that one would potentially face in the business world. Ivey gives any HBA student tremendous tools to analyze any business and personal situation with a critical and an “out of the box” perspective, thus really differentiating HBA students post-University.

Ivey builds your fundamentals in business like no other program would. However, Ivey aims to build your knowledge base further than just your academics. Via several time pressed group projects, presentations and multiple extra-curricular offerings, HBA students truly differentiate themselves by developing skills that are impossible to attain from a lecture based environment.

What was one highlight of your Ivey Experience?

48 Hour reports are truly some of the most memorable projects that a student will ever work on. These group based projects not only serve as a reinforcement to the content learned throughout the course, but working with a time constraint simulates and trains students for a situation that they might face in their careers while providing a strong bonding experience with their colleagues.

What advice would you give incoming HBA students?

The strongest piece of advice for incoming HBA students would be to try to maintain a balanced life style. The time you spend away from Ivey is just as important as the time spent in Ivey. A balanced life style will allow you to be your best day in day out.

Given the demanding curriculum in HBA1, what support is available for students?

The Ivey classroom environment is a pleasant change from that of a lecture based class setting. The immediate responsibility and fast paced experience can be overwhelming but it soon becomes the norm and truly trains students to thrive in intensive environments.

Ivey understands the intensiveness of the HBA program; as such Ivey provides support programs and clinics to allow you to be able to handle the new environment. However, a group of upper year Peer Advisors who quite recently underwent the program are available to help you out
