What have you learned thus far in the MSc program? I have learned a great deal about understanding innovation and how organizations can embrace a different way of looking at problems and opportunities. Why did you choose the Ivey MSc Program? Business Analytics is a field that has seen rapid growth in the past few years and has been something I’ve been interested in. The Ivey MSc Program is one of the few programs that offer this. One main factor that attracted me to this program was the Ivey Analytics Lab (IAL).  I saw it has a huge opportunity to not just learn in class but also intern by applying skills learnt. Also, I wanted a school that had a strong networking link with alumni and was very reputable in the eyes of employers, the Ivey MSc. Program is excellent at fulfilling that!
What have you learned thus far in the MSc program? So far in the program, I’ve learned how to analyze real world problems through cases we’ve been given using various tools. This has helped broaden and strengthen my technical and analytical skills. I have also learnt how to collaborate and contribute more effectively by engaging in class discussions.

Why did you choose the Ivey MSc Program? Coming from a “non-traditional background” in public policy and international affairs, I wanted a program which would enhance my undergraduate degree, and prioritized building a diverse cohort. Ivey stood out as a school which prided itself on its diversity — in both geographical and academic background. I also wanted an environment where learning went beyond the textbook. I felt Ivey’s case-study  method, using real-life examples to impart business knowledge, and use of experiential learning were the perfect complements to develop real business development and strategy expertise in a unique context. Finally, I wanted a degree that had a strong international component. With its Global Lab, exchange, and dual degree opportunities, choosing the Ivey MSc was an easy choice.
What have you learned thus far in the MSc program? So far in the program, I can confidently say I’ve learned to master the case method – prepping and forming an opinion of several real life business decisions each week. I’ve also learned, and continue to learn, so much each day from my classmates. Their backgrounds are all so varied, and each one of them brings such a different perspective to the set of readings or case we cover for class each week. I look forward to continuing to learn from them, building my business knowledge as I prepare for a career in industry post-graduation.

Why did you choose the Ivey MSc Program?

When considering graduate programs, Ivey was my first choice and the only school I applied to.I chose the MSc program because of the practical and comprehensive learning experience offered through the Ivey Analytics Lab and Ivey’s Case-Method, in which students remain engaged and learn to think strategically under ambiguous real-life business situations. While Ivey’s reputation for educating well-rounded business leaders initially drew me to the MSc program, the support I’ve received from faculty, career management, alumni and an exceptionally tight network of peers has made this experience truly incredible.

What have you learned thus far in the MSc program? Being surrounded and continuously challenged by a group of intelligent, motivated and diverse classmates is helping me develop the mix of technical and soft skills required for success. I came here with hopes to leverage the technical knowledge I gained while studying Financial Modelling in my undergrad and combine it with my interests in consumer psychology. I believe Ivey’s focus on professional development is what will truly set me apart as a manager one day

If you could do anything for one day, what would it be?

My perfect day is spent trekking in the mountains before setting up camp, sitting around a campfire, and falling asleep under the stars.

Who would you want to play in a movie of your life?

Margot Robbie.

Why did you choose the Ivey MSc Program?

I chose the Ivey MSc program thanks to Ivey’s excellent reputation and brand name in Canada and also due to their partnership with CEMS, allowing me access to the international job market.

What have you learned thus far in the MSc program?

I think the most valuable thing that I’ve learnt so far in this program is how capable I am. In the past, I’ve always been the most driven person in the room and I’m noticing that it almost limited my goal setting. To come into a program where so many people have these incredible aspirations like to work for the UN or become the CEO of a company, it’s inspiring and I’m excited to see what the future holds and what we’re capable of achieving!
