The role of the MSc Association (MScA) in the MSc in Management Program is very important, as it allows for our current students to be involved within the Ivey Community and to have the opportunity to build a unique identity with each incoming class.
The MScA is made up of an executive team consisting of seven current Ivey MSc students in the positions of: President, VP Finance, VP Internal, VP External, VP International Business, VP Business Analytics, and CEMS Club President. The MScA is governed by a commitment to the following three responsibilities:
Mission Statement of the MScA
- Internal: Foster an environment that promotes the development of strong social and professional relationships among students in the program, including each term of CEMS exchange students.
- External: Work to consistently increase the reputation and awareness of the MSc program. This includes outreach activities on behalf of the class, as well as the fostering of opportunities for direct relationship-building between the MSc class, HBA and MBA programs, alumni, and external institutions.
- Administrative: Build the infrastructure/processes required to communicate effectively with the class and administration. These processes operate in both directions: from the class to administration and vice-versa. The council will be welcoming to all opinions and ideas.

What do you hope to accomplish with the MScA?
As MScA President, I ultimately hope to leave my peers with lasting memories and meaningful relationships. To accomplish this, I will use my role in the MScA to plan several social and professional events and to create diverse opportunities for student involvement. Even after graduation, I want to do as much as I can to ensure that our cohort stays a tight-knit community. Oh, and one more thing… #NappingPods2019.

Shiv Khanna, VP Finance
Program stream: Business Analytics
Undergrad stream: Accounting and Finance at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
What do you hope to accomplish with the MScA?
Being an international student, I want to host immersion socials that bring together the international community. I will also strive to collaborate with the career management office to mentor the community. Honing and polishing the softer networking and recruiting skills will be vital going forward.

I have a two-fold belief. First, that every action of ours is a reflection of our values. Second, we always control outcomes and should hold only ourselves accountable for the same. With strong values and accountability, we can reflect and continually grow into our best versions and have a positive impact on those around us.

What do you hope to accomplish with the MScA?
As VP External, part of my responsibility is developing relationships with the broader London community to enhance the student experience and build the MSc brand. The MSc student body has a unique opportunity as a collective to positively impact the societies in which we live and work. I hope to build strong relationships with external organizations to give MSc students the opportunity to contribute to the community and lead by example. With these practices, I hope to empower future MSc cohorts to practise philanthropy and demonstrate the power of diverse innovative teams working as a collective.
