Time Flies at Ivey

They say, “time flies when you’re having fun”, and this could not be truer for these past few months. With fall full- time recruiting taking up the majority of September and the first part of October, my peers and I have been busy balancing a full recruiting and course work. Although we were warned about the “craziness” of it all, I can truly say that through this experience I learned several valuable lessons that I know will transition with me throughout this program and into my career.

One of the most daunting aspects of the MSc program for me was the recruiting process. Over the past 8 months, my desired career path has shifted more than I could have ever imagined. Ivey provides its students with more resources and opportunities than you know what to do with. My biggest piece of advice- TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL OF THEM! From the start of the program to the end I believe that these are some of the most valuable tools that the program offers (on top of the course work of course). However, doing so can be very overwhelming during that busy month of September, but is 100% worth it!

As the third semester is (quickly) coming to an end, I have been reflecting on how fortunate I feel being surrounded by so many amazing peers. The MSc program has allowed me to push my boundaries, both educationally and experientially, as well as develop friendships that encourage and drive me to continue to grow to my fullest potential. From crazy group projects to amazing MSc hosted events, the start of this year has been nothing less than what I was hoping for. With final exams around the corner, I am excited to embrace all that these last few months have to offer!
