MSc Digital Management went on a field trip to Innovation Works at downtown London, Ontario on March 3rd to get to know the thriving entrepreneurial spirit within the local community.

As the MSc students attended the talk hosted by Pillars, they are introduced to the fundamentals of Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) principles. ESG is a framework used to assess how companies manage their operations to ensure that they meet ethical, social, and environmental standards. The discussion likely covered topics such as sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical business practices. Students were also split into groups to experience an ideation process, which is a process of generating and developing new ideas. The ideation process was likely used to help the group brainstorm ideas for their final entrepreneurship project. The group may have engaged in activities such as brainstorming, mind mapping, or prototyping to develop and refine their ideas.

During the second half of the event, the format switched to a panel discussion, which brought in two innovative entrepreneurs from Innovation Works in London, Ontario. The discussion revolved around the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on technological development and how businesses can adapt to the new normal. The entrepreneurs provided valuable insights on the emerging trends in the tech industry and discussed how businesses can leverage these trends to improve their operations and stay competitive in the market. Their perspectives on the importance of innovation and collaboration were particularly noteworthy.

Overall, the field trip was an incredibly insightful and informative experience, leaving the attendees with plenty of food for thought.
