Why did you decide to do an MBA?

After five years across consulting, quant finance and fintech, I’d learned how to build products: shipping payment features, leading engineering teams and turning data into decisions. What I wanted next was a stronger grasp of the business side, meaning why a product wins in the market, how it makes money, and how to lead the strategy around it. An MBA was the natural bridge from building features to shaping product strategy. I chose Ivey for its case method, which puts me in the decision-maker’s seat every day, and for its strong network in Canada’s tech ecosystem, where I hope to grow as a Product Manager.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

Making decisions with incomplete information. Every case puts you in a leader’s seat with ambiguous data and no “right” answer. I’ve learned to commit to a recommendation, defend it clearly, and stay open to changing my mind when a classmate makes a better argument.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

How much I learn from my classmates. With people from finance, healthcare, engineering and beyond in one room, the same case gets cracked open from angles I’d never have considered alone. The discussion teaches as much as the case does.

Ivey in one word or a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!

Diversity in action, not just in words.
