Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I’ve always known I wanted to pursue an MBA because I wanted to take full ownership of my career path. With a background in supply chain and data analytics, I was eager to build on that foundation and gain broader business skills to take on more senior roles. The Ivey MBA felt like the right next step because it offers the kind of hands-on, leadership-focused experience I was looking for.
Moving to Canada recently created the perfect opportunity to make this transition. Beyond the classroom, the MBA has opened up a diverse and dynamic network I likely wouldn’t have accessed otherwise. I’m not just learning how to lead in business, I’m also exploring new industries, connecting with people from all walks of life, and reimagining what my career could look like.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is how to embrace ambiguity while still moving forward with confidence. The case discussions, team learning, and assignments have pushed me to make decisions without having all the answers. I’ve come to see that effective leadership often means navigating uncertainty, managing competing priorities, and trusting the process and the people around you, even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
I’ve asked, “Do they really expect us to read all of that?” more times than I can count. And YES, they do. I knew a one-year MBA would be challenging, but I definitely underestimated how intense it would be. Still, it has taught me how to manage competing priorities and stay focused under pressure. I’ve learned to embrace it because this is the kind of environment where leaders grow.
