Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to pursue an MBA to transition from a purely technical role into positions where I can contribute to broader strategic decisions. In my work as a geotechnical engineer, I was involved in complex infrastructure and energy projects and often saw how technical analysis fed into larger business, risk, and investment decisions. That made me want to engage more directly with that side of the work. An MBA allows me to build skills in strategy, finance, and leadership, and move into roles where I can combine my technical background with business decision-making.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I've learned at Ivey is to prioritize and pick my battles. With so much happening at once, knowing where to focus my energy and being comfortable letting some things go has made me sharper and more intentional in everything i do.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The pace and volume surprised me most. You adapt quickly and become far more efficient than you ever expected.
