Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I felt like I had hit a ceiling in my previous role and wanted to challenge myself in new ways. An MBA gives you exposure to different industries, perspectives, and ways of thinking and I've found that breadth really makes you more creative in how you approach problems.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The biggest thing Ivey has taught me is to get comfortable being uncomfortable. The case method pushes you to speak up every day, defend your thinking, and be open to having your ideas challenged. I've made it a point to step outside my comfort zone; whether that's taking on unfamiliar topics, engaging with classmates from completely different backgrounds and cultures, or putting myself in situations where I don't have all the answers. That's where the real growth happens.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
Honestly, the 24-hour reports. I'd never done anything like that before being handed a complex business problem and having to deliver a thorough, well-structured report overnight. It forces you to think fast, prioritize what really matters, and work under real pressure. It was a shock at first, but it's become one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
Ivey in one word or a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!
The people and the experiences. You come in for the academics, but what really defines Ivey is the incredible people you meet and the shared experiences that push you to grow, inside and outside the classroom.
