Why did you decide to do an MBA?
Working in startups exposed me to so many different aspects of business and sparked a curiosity to explore them further. I knew an MBA would give me the chance to learn from leading faculty and hear firsthand from industry experts and alumni across a wide range of fields.
I also came to Ivey for the people. Getting to spend a year with 160 like-minded individuals was exactly what I was looking for. I had interacted with so many alumni who always emphasized the great friendships you make along the way, and who said the Ivey MBA was the difference maker in their careers. None of them hesitated to help with any questions I had. It quickly became clear that this was where I wanted to be.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I've learned at Ivey has come from my classmates. We all come from such different backgrounds, and when we tackle problems in group work, the discussions always pull everyone's experiences in and elevate the outcome for the group. Learning about their work experience and life stories has been one of the most valuable parts of my time here so far.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The most surprising aspect has been how fun the case method is. I knew I'd enjoy it, but it's fundamentally different from any way I've learned before, and in the best way possible. Each case puts you in a totally different industry facing a new problem, so the surprises keep coming. Plenty of laughs and great discussion make every class something to look forward to.
