Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to do an MBA because I wanted to step back from execution and better understand the bigger picture of how businesses work. During my time at Oracle, I grew by working on complex projects firsthand, and over time I realized I was most energized by thinking about how organizations operate, navigate change, and the real impact of selecting the right process.
Ivey’s case-based method especially stood out to me because it fits how I learn best. I enjoy learning through real situations, quick thinking, and from different perspectives. Coming from a nontraditional background in psychology, I wanted to be in an environment where I could bring a different lens while continuing to strengthen my business foundations.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
One of my biggest takeaways from Ivey has been the importance of adaptability and resilience. In such a fast-paced environment, striving for perfection in every task can actually slow you down. What matters more is being able to think on your feet, make decisions with incomplete information, and keep moving forward. I’ve also learned that growth is not about mastering unfamiliar topics right away. It’s about building a well-rounded skill set, being open to feedback, and trusting that you can keep improving through experience. That mindset has made me more resilient, and I know it’s something I’ll carry with me after Ivey.
