Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I’m pursuing an MBA to strengthen my business foundations and open new career possibilities. Over the past two years in consulting, I’ve gained experience in performance improvement, financial modeling, and strategic analysis, but I often found myself wanting a deeper academic grounding to understand the bigger picture better. With an undergraduate degree in engineering, I believe formal business training will help me bridge that gap. Ivey’s case-based learning, strong reputation, and close-knit community stood out to me as the right environment to accelerate my growth. What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant part of Ivey is the case-based learning environment. Sitting in on a class, I quickly realized it feels like drinking from a fire hose — fast, challenging, and incredibly energizing. You are constantly pushed to think quickly, structure your thoughts under pressure, and share your ideas with confidence. Just as important, you learn how to truly listen, pick up on different perspectives, build on others’ insights, and adapt your thinking in real time. The smart, supportive peer group made an immediate impression on me. The room was filled with sharp thinkers from diverse backgrounds, creating rich discussions and encouraging everyone to raise their game. I know that being immersed in this setting will push me out of my comfort zone, help me grow into a sharper strategist, and build lifelong friendships along the way.
